The change is app delivery, not a brand-new warning system

Korea's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs says the Nongup e-ji app began sending morning push notifications on November 5, 2026 for agricultural weather-disaster early warnings. Its web service had already been linked to the Rural Development Administration's warning system since February 2025. The new feature makes information available through app notifications instead of requiring users to revisit the website each time.

Who and what are covered?

The ministry describes the service for registered agricultural-management entities. It says registered farmers can use Nongup e-ji after identity verification without a separate membership sign-up. Information is matched to the fields and crops recorded in their registration; installing an app alone does not establish that a particular field will receive a warning.

The announcement lists 44 crops across fruit, vegetables, food crops and specialty crops, and 15 categories of weather-disaster risk. Under normal conditions, the service provides today's weather and a three-day forecast. When risk is predicted, it provides warnings and crop-specific guidance. These figures do not mean every crop or every possible event is covered, nor do they guarantee a warning will arrive at a particular time.

Find the official app and check your own setup

The Google Play listing displays the app name 농업이지, while the Korean Apple App Store listing displays 농업e지. Check that the listed developer is the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs rather than relying on the name alone.

Before relying on notifications, verify your registered field and crop information, complete the app's identity verification, and check that your device actually receives notifications. The press release does not establish an exact in-app permission menu or tap sequence, so we do not prescribe one. An absent notification should not be treated as proof of no risk; consult current weather alerts and conditions on the farm as well.
