Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) is recruiting 19 fixed-term specialist civil servants for its National AI Service Innovation Task Force. The announcement runs November 2–12, 2026, but applications are accepted only November 10–12. Readers considering a position should start with the original notices for each grade, not infer an application process from the press-release headline. The cover is an AI-generated conceptual photograph, not an image of the task force or an official form.

The filing route is offline

Each of the three original grade notices gives the same application hours: 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. on November 10–12, excluding the noon–1:00 p.m. lunch break. Applications go by registered post or in-person delivery. The notices accept registered mail postmarked no later than November 12 and advise fast registered mail. An in-person applicant must contact the hiring office before visiting and complete submission by the deadline. Email, ordinary parcel delivery and quick courier are not accepted. These details matter more than the wider November 2–12 announcement period: publication of a vacancy is not the opening of its application window.

The address in the notices is the National AI Service Innovation Task Force hiring officer, Room 516, Building 4 of the Government Complex, 477 Galmae-ro, Sejong, postal code 30109. The contact number is 044-202-4688. Mark the envelope as containing a specialist Grade A, B or C application as appropriate. Check the official form, revenue-stamp requirement and supporting-document list before mailing. The date of the postmark and the date a package physically arrives are distinct; if uncertain about receipt, confirm with the office rather than assuming that an electronic copy will substitute for the required filing route.

Nineteen openings are not one interchangeable role

The grade A notice offers one development-lead post (code 개발A). Grade B offers 11 positions: development/process coordination (개발B, three), AI service development (개발C, six), infrastructure operation (인프라A, one), and development security (보안A, one). Grade C offers seven: service development (개발D, six) and security (보안B, one). The B and C notices say that an applicant may select only one application code and may not apply simultaneously under multiple codes. The responsibilities differ: project coordination, implementation, infrastructure and security are not the same job simply because each sits in the AI task force.

The eligibility tables are similarly grade- and code-specific. Applicants must first meet the general conditions, including Korean nationality, the age rule and the absence of disqualifying grounds listed in the notices. For grade A, one experience route is a relevant bachelor's degree followed by nine years of qualifying private-sector experience; another is 12 years of relevant experience, and a civil-service route concerns two years at grade 5 or equivalent. The A notice adds managerial-responsibility conditions for some private-sector experience routes. Grade B examples are a relevant bachelor's degree plus six years, nine years of relevant experience, or two years as a grade-6-equivalent civil servant. Grade C examples are a relevant bachelor's degree plus four years, seven years of relevant experience, or two years at grade 7 or equivalent. There are separate degree-based alternatives, and the relevant field varies by code. These examples do not replace the full tables in the three attachments.

Candidates must choose one eligible experience or degree route on the form, rather than check every potentially attractive box. The notices do not permit simple addition of public-service and private-sector experience to meet an experience route. Qualifying experience is assessed against the scheduled interview date; a degree route is assessed against the projected appointment date, December 16, subject to change. Read the detailed job description and the exact evidence rules for the chosen code. For example, an informal title suggesting AI work does not establish that infrastructure or security duties meet a posted definition. Employment certificates need to show the relevant dates and tasks, and the grade C notice also stresses working arrangements and hours.

Prepare documents before the window opens

The attachments include forms for the submission checklist, application, CV, personal statement, job-performance plan and consent to eligibility verification. The precise additional evidence for experience, degree or preferred qualifications depends on the selected route. Check signatures, the revenue stamp, issuance dates and any personal-information handling instructions in the actual forms. An incomplete packet may not be cured by emailing documents after the fact, because email is not an accepted application channel in these notices.

The notices project a document-screening result on November 18 and a final result on December 8. The detailed interview schedule should be confirmed from the later notice sent to shortlisted applicants: the grade attachments contain a difference in the interview-date table and accompanying explanation. The stated term runs from appointment to September 30, 2028, with an extension mentioned only as a possibility subject to conditions; it is not a guaranteed renewal. The tentative appointment date can also change.

A workable sequence is to select one grade and code today, compare the job description with your degree and employment certificates, request missing proof, then review the official page immediately before posting or visiting on November 10–12. Treat 6:00 p.m. November 12 as the end of in-person filing hours and the same date as the stated registered-mail postmark cutoff. Recheck MSIT and the government jobs portal for corrections or a changed timetable; this article reflects the notices available on November 4.
