Checked November 1, 2026. Korea Customs Service and the Korea Duty Free Shops Association announced the autumn Korea Duty-Free FESTA for October 29 through November 15. The advertised “up to 25%” describes a possible maximum across participating offers, not a blanket reduction on every item at every branch. A buyer needs to match a particular store, nationality category, spending threshold, required proof and redemption date. The Korean Naver guide explains a pre-trip checklist. This article's cover is an AI-generated concept image, not a photograph of a participating store or a coupon screen.
Put the event and coupon dates on separate lines
The event closes November 15, but individual benefits in the official attachment do not all have that same use-by date. For example, the two KRW 10,000 Shinsegae shopping-support vouchers associated with the code KOREA2026 are listed as usable through November 30. That later date does not extend the festival itself. Conversely, a Shilla prepaid-card benefit described in the attachment is valid only on the day it is issued. Check when a benefit may be claimed, when it may be spent and whether the relevant store is open at that time.
The words “discount,” “prepaid card,” “voucher” and “membership” refer to different mechanisms. A KRW 3,000 prepaid card should not automatically be treated as KRW 3,000 cash back on any purchase. Nor should a traveler add every headline number together: brand exclusions, non-combinability, limited uses and minimum purchases can change the actual result. The press release is an announcement of planned offers, not a live stock or checkout guarantee.
Lotte city branches: tiers and a per-store limit
The attachment names the Myeongdong Main, World Tower, Busan and Jeju Lotte city duty-free branches. In addition to a GOLD membership discount of up to 15%, it lists coupon tiers for spending at least USD 100, 200, 300, 500 or 800, with respective discounts of USD 10, 20, 30, 50 or 80. It also says one use per participating branch during the event, excludes brands that cannot be discounted and requires presentation of the mobile FESTA coupon screen. Before budgeting for a particular tier, confirm that your chosen brand and the final qualifying purchase amount are eligible at the branch you will actually use.
Lotte's separate PRE-LDF PAY offer tied to a tourist-attraction admission ticket or receipt is identified as for foreign customers. Same-day use, purchase thresholds, excluded brands and coupon presentation have their own terms. The Busan and Jeju listings add conditions specific to those locations. Do not transfer this attraction-linked benefit to a Korean shopper or assume that it can be stacked with the spending-tier coupon merely because both appear under Lotte in the attachment.
Shilla and Shinsegae: proof is part of the offer
At Shilla's named offline Seoul, Jeju and Incheon locations, one benefit offers a KRW 3,000 prepaid card on presentation of a qualifying tourist-attraction admission ticket or souvenir-purchase receipt. The card is described as valid on the day it is issued. The attachment identifies the eligible attraction scheme; a receipt from just any attraction should not be presumed sufficient. A Jeju USD 100 purchase benefit and Seoul/Jeju same-day taxi-receipt benefits are separate entries, not evidence that one document unlocks them all.
For Shinsegae, the KOREA2026 code applies to two shopping-support vouchers with a USD 50 minimum purchase and a November 30 use-by date. The stated channels include the online mall and the Myeongdong and Incheon Airport T1/T2 offline stores. Check the current issuance screen and redemption restrictions before using the voucher in a price comparison. A different Myeongdong offer provides a K-ROAD PASS voucher to qualifying foreign customers who spend at least USD 50. The attachment places that offer at the Myeongdong 12th-floor customer center and lists participation once per month. It is not the same benefit as the code vouchers.
Hyundai Trade Center and other operators need their own tables
Hyundai Duty Free's Trade Center terms distinguish Korean and foreign customers. The Korean-customer table includes GOLD membership and purchase-tier prepaid-card benefits. The foreign-customer table includes BLACK membership and tiered discounts, with a BTS Travel Book for eligible purchasing customers and a World Pass for visiting customers. These are not described as a nationwide entitlement at every Hyundai branch. Check the relevant table against your status, actual branch and purchase amount before comparing its headline value with another operator's offer.
The official attachment also lists HDC Shilla, JDC, JTO and other operators with their own locations, channels and thresholds. A single ranking of “best discounts” would combine offers that different travelers cannot use. City stores, airport departure stores and online shops can have different purchase and collection routes. Select the store on your travel route first, then read that store's row of conditions rather than starting from the largest advertised figure.
The announcement mentions a regional-tourism pop-up zone on the 11th floor of Shinsegae's Myeongdong store. It does not guarantee specific operating hours or stock at the moment you arrive. If the pop-up is the reason for a detour, check the store's current notice and confirm on-site availability before traveling solely for it.
A five-part pre-trip check
First, identify the actual branch and channel—city store, airport store or online mall—where you intend to buy. Second, find the correct Korean- or foreign-customer eligibility line. Third, compare your expected spending with the stated USD or KRW threshold and ask about excluded brands and combination rules. Fourth, prepare the exact proof requested, whether an admission ticket, same-day taxi receipt, mobile coupon screen or code. Fifth, record both the date of issuance and the deadline for use, particularly for same-day cards and vouchers whose expiry extends beyond the festival. If any condition remains uncertain, do not subtract the maximum advertised benefit from your travel budget as though it were guaranteed.
