Checked November 1, 2026. Korea’s Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) announced on October 29 that it had ordered the recall of 48 products following a safety survey. Despite the press-release headline mentioning children’s textiles and toys, the list is broader: 30 children’s products, 11 household products and seven electrical products. A product in the same category is not automatically included. To identify yours, compare its model or item number and business operator with the official entry.

This article lists every recalled product below and explains how to compare it with your own item. The cover is an AI-generated concept image, not evidence of what any recalled item looks like. A separate Korean Naver guide is available at Life Mokcha on Naver.

Surveyed does not mean recalled

KATS surveyed 1,039 products across 67 categories from June through October 2026. It ordered recalls for 48 products that did not meet applicable safety requirements. The larger number describes the survey, not a list of defective products. Nor does a recall of a category, such as a toy or lamp, apply to every toy or lamp on sale.

In the press release, KATS gives examples within the 30 children’s products: 11 children’s textile products with drawstring-related issues, seven toys in which prohibited substances such as asbestos or preservatives were found, and four children’s leather products with lead findings. These are examples, not a complete reconstruction of the 30 entries. For household goods, the release mentions three pieces of furniture with a tipping concern related to load or vertical-force tests and two portable laser products exceeding the laser-class standard. For electrical goods, it mentions two LED luminaires with issues including insufficient insulation distance and two computer power-supply units with temperature-rise or insulation-clearance issues. The precise defect and consumer action differ by item.

All 48 recalled products

Entries 1–48 follow the 48-page official KATS individual recall notices, one product per PDF page. Model identifiers and Korean business names follow the notices; defect descriptions are abbreviated. Cross-check the notice photograph, certification details and contact before treating your item as a match.

Gather identifiers from the item itself

Look for a model name or code, item number, manufacturer or importer, and certification or declaration number on the item, label, packaging, manual, receipt or order details. A care label may help with clothing, while electrical products often carry a model plate on the housing. The official product tables identify the category, operator, model and nonconformity. The individual recall notices provide more detail, including a photograph, operator, defect description and contact point.

Some notices show a dash for the certification or declaration number. A missing number alone therefore cannot rule an item out. Conversely, a matching brand or similar photograph does not prove that two products share a model. Retail listing titles can differ from the formal model name, and one brand may sell many versions. If the label is worn or the item was a gift, record what is visible and ask the operator listed in the relevant official notice whether your item is covered. Avoid presenting a guess as a confirmed identification.

Compare the official entries step by step

Start with the tables attached to the government press release and then open the individual notice for a possible match. KATS says it also published the information on the Safety Korea recall database and Consumer24. Search by model or item number where possible, then cross-check the operator, publication date and defect. A broad keyword such as “children’s trousers” may return several unrelated entries.

Next, compare the official identifiers with the actual item, not just an online image. An online store may use a marketing name absent from the official notice, while the sewn-in or printed label may carry the relevant code. If the notice defines an individual production or import scope, read that scope too. A different recall from another date should not be counted automatically among this group of 48. If your evidence remains incomplete, the operator’s recall contact point is a better source of confirmation than a visual guess.

Finally, read the consumer action for the exact entry. The individual notices instruct owners of affected items to stop using them immediately and contact or visit the named business for measures such as repair, exchange or refund. The phrase does not promise that every item qualifies for an identical cash refund or uses the same paperwork. Confirm the specific route, documentation and available remedy with the relevant business. Do not continue using a confirmed item while improvising a repair of an electrical component or clothing drawstring and treating that as the official remedy.

Contacting the business and protecting your information

If your item appears to match, keep photographs of its markings and overall appearance. A receipt, store name, order confirmation or approximate purchase date may also help the business check it. Ask which part of the official notice applies, where to register the recall and what remedy is offered. If you received the item second-hand or as a gift, explain that rather than assuming you cannot make an inquiry. The exact evidentiary requirements may differ among operators.

Use the contact point in the official notice or the actual retailer’s service channel. There is no reason to publish your full address, phone number or order number in an open comment. If you share the warning with someone else, share the official model list rather than describing an entire brand as recalled. The difference matters both for someone who owns a similar but unaffected item and for someone whose product title does not obviously match but whose model does.

Dates and limits of the announcement

October 29, 2026 is the announcement date; June–October 2026 is the survey period. Neither date, by itself, is a universal purchase window or a common deadline to request a recall remedy. The press release does not state one end date for all 48 recall applications. Check the individual notice and current operator guidance for the scope and procedure relevant to your item. A later purchase date alone does not establish coverage or exclusion without identifying the product.

KATS said it published product information through Safety Korea and Consumer24 and registered it in a system linked with approximately 290,000 physical outlets and online shops to block sales of hazardous products. That does not automatically identify or replace a product already in your home. The owner still needs to compare the item, stop using it if confirmed and arrange the applicable measure. Keep the key numbers separate: 1,039 surveyed; 48 ordered recalled; 30 children’s, 11 household and seven electrical products among the 48.
