The Korea National Park Service (KNPS) announced a Friday-and-Saturday pilot night-tour program through November 14, 2026 in three parks. This guide covers the Gyeongju route. As of October 25, the October 24 session has passed. Dates below are scheduled days inferred from the published Friday/Saturday pattern, not a check of live inventory or a promise that bookings are open. Do not interpret the notice as offering this pilot for booking after November 14.
Where does the Gyeongju walk go?
The KNPS announcement describes an approximately 1.2km route from Woljeonggyo Bridge through Gyerim Forest to the Wolseong moat. Its Gyeongju program detail gives the meeting point as the south gate of Woljeonggyo Bridge (274 Gyo-dong, Gyeongju), with approximately 20 participants per session. The press release describes a safety limit of no more than 20 per session. Activities listed include making a traditional paper lantern and hearing local history and nature interpretation. Capacity is not the number of seats still available; the meeting point is also distinct from the last location shown on the published timetable.

October 23 and 24 have passed. The later dates above come from applying the published Friday/Saturday pattern to the calendar; they are not a date-by-date inventory check. The official detail lists online, telephone and on-site booking, but online booking requires sign-in and public access does not establish how many places remain. The press release says some on-site booking was planned for the convenience of foreign nationals and others; that is not a guarantee of walk-up availability for a particular date. Do not assume walk-up admission.
What does the published Gyeongju timetable include?
The Gyeongju schedule attached to the KNPS press-release PDF begins with assembly, registration and an introduction at Woljeonggyo from 5:00 to 5:10 p.m. It sets out paper-lantern making and Woljeonggyo history and scenery from 5:10 to 5:35, then travel to Gyerim from 5:35 to 5:45. Its 5:45–6:10 Gyerim segment covers the Kim Alji birth legend, the forest's historical significance and the night-time setting. The group is shown moving to the Wolseong moat from 6:10 to 6:20.
The same PDF then schedules interpretation of Wolseong and the moat from 6:20 to 6:50, followed by a feedback survey and closing remarks at the moat from 6:50 to 7:00 p.m. In other words, the south gate is the assembly point, while the moat is the last point on the proposed timetable. This is a published plan, not a verified itinerary for every session. Check the actual finish location before planning your return journey, especially because the official online program detail displays a different finish time.
Price and finish time need confirmation
Price: Neither the public program detail nor the press PDF gives a fee in the material checked. Do not assume it is free. Confirm the current charge and remaining places in the booking flow or with the park office. Approximately 20 participants per session does not indicate how many places remain. A listing for the program does not by itself prove that a specific date is open or that an individual's reservation is complete.
Time conflict: The current KNPS program detail says 5:00–6:30 p.m. (90 minutes). The October 23 press-release PDF's Gyeongju schedule instead begins assembly at 5:00 p.m. and ends at 7:00 p.m., with a 6:20–6:50 segment at the moat before the closing. The official finish times differ by 30 minutes; these materials alone do not establish which one applies to your session. Ask the park office for your session's actual meeting and finish times and places before arranging onward travel. Do not treat either published end time as a confirmed promise for an individual date.
KNPS says two nature interpreters will accompany the group: one provides the scenery, ecology and history commentary, while the other follows behind to watch safety and respond to emergencies. It announced provision of headlamps and reflective bands, and a quiet walk around sunset to minimize effects on wildlife. Those are the agency's operational plans, not a verification that equipment and arrangements are unchanged for each date.
In brief
The tour is scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays through November 14, but the public sources do not confirm live seats or price. Check the precise session, booking method and conflicting end times directly with KNPS. A useful set of questions is: Is the chosen date actually offered, are places left, what is the fee, where and when do participants assemble and finish, and are telephone or on-site places available? After November 14, this pilot's past dates should not be presented as open for applications; any extension or restart needs a separate official announcement.
