If a letter about Korea's second-half 2026 Regional Employment Survey arrives at your home, do not mistake its reference week for the deadline to reply. The Ministry of Data and Statistics (MODS) announcement dated October 16 describes a sample of approximately 232,000 households nationwide, covering people aged 15 or older within those households. It does not invite every household to sign up for the survey.
Three clocks on one notice
| What the date means | Dates in the official Korean PDF | Your next step |
|---|---|---|
| Reference period for the survey | October 11–17, 2026 | Treat this as the period covered by employment questions, not a response window. |
| Internet survey | October 18–26, 2026 | Use the participation number on the mailed notice if your household was selected. |
| Interview and telephone survey | October 20–November 4, 2026 | This is a separate response route that extends beyond the internet window. |
These dates appear in the survey outline on page 2 of the original PDF. The agency also marks October 19 as a preparatory survey day. October 26 is not the end of every mode of collection. Conversely, the reference period of October 11–17 is not the week in which every selected person must finish the form.

How to confirm the route
The agency says the selected household can respond online using the participation number mailed in its notice, or through an enumerator's visit. The published internet route is survey.k-stat.go.kr/eregion. The web address currently redirects to a ministry survey service; its existence alone does not prove that an uninvited household may respond or that a particular visitor is genuine. Check your notice rather than following an unfamiliar short link sent by a caller.
For a questionable phone call or visit, open the official three-page PDF and use page 3's regional office and jurisdiction list to find the relevant contact independently. This article cannot authenticate an individual caller or enumerate every local number without your location.

What happens to the answers?
The survey outline lists 34 items, including employment status, hours worked, job search and experience of career interruption. MODS says answers are used for statistical purposes under the Statistics Act and kept confidential. The intended output is local employment statistics—not a publication of a sampled household's individual answers.
The agency plans to release major city/county/district employment indicators in February 2027, industry and occupation characteristics of employed people in April, and employed status of dual-income and single-person households in June. These are planned release months, not guaranteed individual result notices. Consult subsequent MODS releases if a schedule changes.
