Three crafts, six separate class choices: the Korea National University of Heritage's Heritage Education Institute has announced weekend practical classes at its Sejong learning centre. The Korea Heritage Service announcement (Korean) gives the broad outline; the institute's recruitment notice (Korean) and its detailed PDF (Korean) provide the material costs and applicant rules. This is not the institute's main campus in Buyeo.

Which session fits your Saturday?
Every course runs for six Saturdays, October 24–November 28, 2026, three hours per week (18 hours total). Pick one subject and its morning 10:00–13:00 or afternoon 14:00–17:00 session. The advertised capacity is 10 per session, six sessions or 60 planned places altogether. These are planned intakes, not currently available seats.
| Korean course label | What the syllabus proposes | Approximate consumable supplies the learner buys directly |
|---|---|---|
| 색실누비 (saeksil-nubi, traditional padded stitching) | A quilted pouch | KRW 100,000: cotton cloth, silk thread and cotton cord, among other supplies |
| 매듭 (maedeup, traditional knotting) | Small accessories including a brooch and bracelet | KRW 30,000: scissors, practice cord, fabric, pendant and other items |
| 전각 (jeongak, seal engraving) | Carving and using traditional seals | KRW 50,000: engraving knife, seal stone, ink and inkstone, among other items |
Tuition is free, but the learner pays for and purchases supplies. The web notice gives a general KRW 50,000–100,000 material estimate; its more detailed attached PDF separately estimates KRW 30,000 for knotting. We use the subject-by-subject PDF figures rather than imposing the general range on every class. They are approximate supply budgets, not fixed checkout prices or a promise of a finished item.
The Sejong classroom is at B2, LH Hope Shopping Complex, Gaon Maeul 7-danji, 20 Dajeongjungang-ro, Sejong (세종특별자치시 다정중앙로 20, 가온마을 7단지 LH희망상가 지하 2층). Confirm the exact room and directions with the organiser rather than navigating to the Buyeo headquarters address.
The application and its important limits
The announced application window is October 14 at 10:00 to October 18 at 23:00, 2026 (Korea time), subject to first-come closure. On the institute's official class list (Korean), look for 세종학습관 전통공예체험 주말과정, then select the subject and morning/afternoon listing separately. Its detail page offers 접수하기 (“Apply”), which redirected an anonymous October 14 visitor to an identity-verification login. We did not authenticate, submit an application or verify the post-login form. If you cannot use the offered verification methods, ask the institute about eligibility and access; do not assume an English-language application is available.
The recruitment PDF says one subject per person: duplicate applications result in cancellation of all the person's course requests. It also excludes applicants dismissed from the traditional-culture social-education course (전통문화사회교육과정 제적자). It prioritises first-time learners. Previously served learners are generally excluded from this intake, although the PDF allows a possible separate additional recruitment for them in second priority if places remain; the class detail specifically mentions 2026 second-half programme participants. Check your own history with the organiser rather than assuming an exception. Selection is to be announced by text message. An unexplained absence and inability to contact the learner on the first day may cancel the application; a class may be dropped if too few learners join. The notice also treats an application as consent to classroom photography and use of those images—read that condition before applying.
What the public screen did and did not prove: on October 15 at 03:17 KST all six listings displayed 접수중 (“accepting applications”). Some displayed applicant counts above their 10-person intake while retaining that label. Thus neither 접수중 nor a displayed count establishes a vacancy, a successful application or acceptance. Check the live listing again immediately before taking action, and confirm the result in your own applicant account or with the institute.
Enquiries: Sejong learning centre 044-866-3217; institute headquarters 041-830-7826. The October 14 official announcement and the October 15 03:17 KST anonymous class list were checked; confirm the current notice and class list before applying.
