Korea's autumn rural-tourism campaign is not one nationwide 50%-off voucher. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on October 1 that its rural-tourism promotion would extend across October and November 2026. Passes, transport, small-group experiences, lodging and tour packages have separate eligibility and maximum rates. Use the official Welchon portal to locate relevant listings, then verify the seller’s booking terms and checkout price.

Checked: October 2, 2026 (KST). The cover is an AI-generated generic rural scene, not a photograph of a Korean attraction or a marketed product. The following two diagrams are code-drawn. A ministry-announced maximum is not proof of inventory or a final price on an operator's live booking page.

Class What the ministry PDF announces Check at checkout
Rural Tour Pass Coverage associated with 88 population-decline or interest counties/cities, October pass discount up to 50% Actual region, participating venue, pass validity and price
Small-group rural experience 15 products in 14 regions, 40–50% off per product Date, group size, programme and seats
Online-booked experience/lodging 180 products, experience up to 30%, lodging up to 20% Which product receives which rate
Rural creative tours / region-level tours 56 offerings in 17 regions / 71 in eight regions, respectively, up to 50% The particular operator's terms

These are the announcement's programme-wide descriptions—not a promise that every listing can be booked today.

October 12 update — a follow-up announcement now covers tourism-belt packages. In its October 8 release, the agriculture ministry announced pilot operation from that day of 11 two-day, one-night group-tour packages. Its initial plan places departures in Seoul except for the Jeju package, which meets at Jeju Airport, and concentrates departures on Wednesdays and Saturdays. These are announced operating plans, not confirmation of a particular departure or available seats. Do not equate these packages with the existing pass-discount offers.

Welchon's tourism-belt page provides model and regional information. During this signed-out check, the seller link encoded in the attached poster led to a login or service-error screen, so product-specific checkout prices, actual departure dates and remaining seats were not verified. Check the meeting point and included/excluded items with the seller. The poster lists exclusions such as return flights for the Jeju itinerary and a single-room supplement: its “all-in-one” promotion does not mean there can be no extra costs.

Transport savings depend on the pass, route and purchase channel

The PDF describes a tie-in for purchasers of a Rural Tour Pass: express and intercity buses serving the eligible area can be discounted up to 40%, capped at KRW 10,000. It separately describes 50% train fare for 20 population-decline areas when buying a Rural Tour Pass through KorailTalk. This is not a blanket rail or bus discount for any route or independently purchased ticket. Verify the journey and purchase route before paying.

A separately described rural workation offer covers 13 sites, with a KRW 50,000 per weekday for up to five days discount and travel-insurance support. Do not stack this automatically with the pass, ordinary lodging or experience listings.

A practical booking test

  1. Search the Welchon rural tourism portal for the region and product class, then follow the actual seller or booking page.
  2. Match travel date, experience hours, party size and available session to the selected product.
  3. Compare the final checkout price and extra charges with the advertised maximum saving.
  4. Read the operator's cancellation/weather terms and, for transport, participating routes and purchase-channel requirements.

The Welchon October event page, checked October 2 and rechecked October 12, displays October 1–31. A ministry-wide October–November campaign does not establish that each event or listing extends into November, nor guarantee stock for a particular date. The regional half-price travel reimbursement programmes have a different mechanism. For a short Korean product-selection summary, see the Life Mokcha Naver edition.
