A household with two children can meet the revised family threshold, but age and facility operator both matter. An October 1 Korea Forest Service release says the large-family criterion was relaxed from three children under age 19 to two. Parking fees at national natural recreation forests are waived for qualifying large families. It does not establish a blanket rule for every local-government or privately operated forest.
Checked: October 3, 2026 (KST). The cover is a conceptual forest image rather than a photograph of a particular park; the next two diagrams are code-drawn. This is not a new 2026 parking benefit. The original Forest Service announcement of May 21, 2025 explicitly says the parking waiver took effect on May 22, 2025. The October 2026 release revisits an existing policy; the precise earlier effective date of the two-child eligibility threshold is a separate matter not fixed by these sources.
The reported change, without overextending it
- Family criterion: from three to two children under 19. A mere two-person child count, without the age condition, is insufficient evidence of eligibility.
- Facility scope: a national natural recreation forest. A forest with the same type of name but another operator may have different rules.
- Parking charge: the Forest Service says the previous daily charge by vehicle category was KRW 1,500–5,000 and is waived for eligible families at national facilities; this took effect May 22, 2025.
- Other separate benefits: the 2025 release also describes free entry and 10–30% lodging/campsite reductions under weekday, weekend and facility-type conditions. This does not mean all stays are free.

Separate the visit into three checks
- Operator: find your destination on the official Foresttrip booking portal and verify whether it is a national facility. A similar-sounding local or private forest does not automatically have the same parking concession.
- Each fee: distinguish the parking and entry waivers from conditional 10–30% lodging/campsite discounts. Read the site's current fee table and booking screen; not every facility service is free.
- Proof and application: check your chosen facility's current guidance or ask it directly which family-verification documents or vehicle details it needs. The press release does not set out one complete on-site procedure for all forests.

The final booking price and day-of-visit process must be verified with the operator rather than inferred from a general policy announcement. A shorter Korean eligibility answer is in the Life Mokcha Naver edition.
