The classes are free, but there is no single national application window. The Korea Forest Service announcement and its recruitment poster describe eight existing operating sites in Seoul and Daejeon, with online applications through each provider's own recruitment notice on a first-come basis. A separate Daejeon Citizens' College course was planned, not an additional confirmed open registration at the time of the release.
Checked: October 3, 2026 (KST). The overall teaching window, October 1 to December 3, is not a common application period; class schedules vary, and a current vacant seat cannot be inferred from the poster. The three graphics are original editorial diagrams, not photographs of a class or the official poster.
Match the subject with the campus or centre
- Forest careers — 숲에서 찾는 두 번째 내일(My JOB): Seoul Citizens' College Central and Re:Going campuses; Seodaemun-gu Insaeng Care Lifelong Learning Centre; Daejeon Forest Welfare Comprehensive Education Centre.
- Forest products — 임산물로 만드는 ‘숲’기로운 일상: Seoul Citizens' College Central and Southeast campuses; Geumcheon-gu Lifelong Learning Hall (금천구 평생학습관); Daejeon Forest Welfare Comprehensive Education Centre.
- Literature and forest management — 문학작품으로 읽는 숲 사용 설명서: Seodaemun-gu Insaeng Care; Gwangjin-gu Lifelong Learning Center (광진구 평생학습센터); Gwanak-gu Lifelong Learning Hall (관악구 평생학습관).
- Local forest ecology and AI — AI와 함께하는 우리동네 숲 크리에이터: Gwangjin-gu Lifelong Learning Center (광진구 평생학습센터); Geumcheon-gu Lifelong Learning Hall (금천구 평생학습관); and Gwanak-gu Lifelong Learning Hall (관악구 평생학습관).
The original poster describes four sessions per course. Its seven Seoul sites are three Citizens' College campuses and four district facilities; the Daejeon education centre is the eighth. The planned Daejeon Citizens' College addition was to be announced separately in October. The shared course title does not imply a shared application form or identical class time.

Course start dates are not application deadlines
The poster lists October 1 starts at Seoul Citizens' College Re:Going and Southeast campuses. By this article's October 3 check date, those classes have already begun; whether late enrolment is allowed must be checked with the provider.
- October 7: Seodaemun-gu's career course runs Wednesdays 13:00–15:00 through October 28; its literature/management course runs Wednesdays 15:30–17:30 through the same date.
- October 12: The Citizens' College Central campus lists the career course Mondays 10:00–12:00 and the forest-products course Mondays 13:30–15:30, each through November 2.
- November: The first poster dates are November 3 for Geumcheon-gu, November 5 for Gwanak-gu, November 6 and 9 for Gwangjin-gu, and November 11 and 12 for the Daejeon Forest Welfare Comprehensive Education Centre, depending on the course.
None of these dates establishes the enrolment opening date, closing time, capacity or live availability. The poster gives no provider-by-provider application URL or seat count. A scheduled future class may already be full.
Four checks before applying
- Choose the actual provider. Search that institution's official 2026 lifelong-learning listings for the exact Korean course title above. Do not mistake a past-year listing or a general Forest Service news item for its current registration form.
- Read live registration status. Check the provider's start/end times, vacancy and waitlist rules. “First-come” is not a promise that seats remain.
- Confirm who can apply. The poster states adult citizens of Seoul and Daejeon; the accompanying press release uses broader wording for citizens interested in forests. If you live elsewhere, do not assume eligibility from the broader sentence—follow the actual institution's terms for residence and age.
- Separate tuition from other costs. The poster marks tuition free. The venue, transport, materials or other class-specific conditions must be checked in that provider's notice rather than assumed free.

The poster lists the Korea Forest Welfare Promotion Agency's education-planning contact as 042-719-4222 for general programme questions. For a place on a particular course, use the current operating provider's notice. The shorter Korean application answer appears in the Life Mokcha Naver edition; this edition separates courses, venues, timelines and unknowns.
About the Author
The Life Mokcha editorial team compares the Forest Service's release with its original poster, distinguishing a teaching window from enrolment dates and avoiding unverified claims of open seats or universal eligibility.
