Changi Airport lists the Butterfly Garden in Terminal 3's transit area, levels 2 and 3, with daily 24-hour opening shown in its facilities directory. That listing does not mean everyone who arrives at the airport can enter it. Check your access to the transit zone before budgeting time for a visit.
Checked: October 1, 2026 (KST). The facility listing, terminal guide and transfer advice are separate pages from the same airport operator, not independent institutional confirmations. The illustrations here are original geometric drawings, not photographs, maps, signs or butterfly sightings at Changi; they are not AI-generated images.
Decision 1: Which side of the boundary are you on?
- Departing or connecting while already in T3 transit: Consult the airport map and current signs for the garden and its levels. Changi's T3 guide also describes it as a transit-area garden.
- Connecting in another terminal: Check your departure gate and remaining connection time first. Ask the airport or airline how to reach T3 on your actual itinerary. Do not assume every connection avoids immigration or additional screening.
- Already through Singapore arrivals, or not travelling: Do not treat this restricted transit garden as an ordinary landside attraction. Ask the airline whether your onward departure permits you to complete check-in and enter the transit area. We have not verified any standalone admission route from the public area.

Decision 2: Check your onward journey before the detour
Changi's transit guide describes two conditions for qualifying transit passengers: both flights on the same booking itinerary and checked baggage tagged through to the final destination. If you must enter Singapore to reclaim luggage and check in again, the guide says entry requirements apply. Meeting the transit description does not by itself guarantee a feasible garden visit or waive security procedures.
- Check your onward boarding pass, terminal and gate.
- Confirm access to T3 transit from your current position with the airport or airline.
- Allow time to return to the gate and for possible gate changes.
- Recheck the official facility listing for the location and displayed hours on travel day.

What the 24-hour listing does not promise
Published hours describe the directory listing. They do not guarantee your personal right to enter the restricted zone, the absence of a temporary closure, a given number of butterflies, an admission price, or enough time before boarding. We do not quote unverified prices or queue times.
A first-person visitor account last modified in February 2025 is historical experience only. It is not independent evidence for today's access or hours. For a shorter Korean search answer, see the Life Mokcha Naver guide.
